Mortal Online: Beta Phase 2 August 3rd

forumtop

As July comes to an end and August begins so does the second installment of the Mortal Online beta test.

Swedish software developer Star Vault highly anticipated MMORPG that features an open world within a fantasy setting. Using the Unreal engine, Star Vault strives to bring a truly immersive 3D experience to players this coming fall.

I hoped everyone has signed up for the Beta and pre-ordered their copy of the game. Their will only be 10,000 issued copies of the game first run, reason being Star Vault says,  “This is because we want to be able to better control the Beta-phase by administering only one (or two) servers.”

There are the boxed versions available, a limited edition “Full Loot Bag” and digital downloads sold through there online store. All three versions offer a month free play time and access to the beta tests, on a first come, first serve basis.

Subscriptions to Mortal Online will cost roughly $14.25Usd and 14.25 Euro.  This MMORPG will offer no pvp zones, but an open ended world to where you can design and build your own keeps and houses. Whether it’s through war, trading or flexing your diplomatic influence you can custom create your characters skills to suit your individual playstyle.

So if you haven’t reserved your copy yet, make sure to hurry down to the Mortal Online store to reserve your copy, and download your beta client. You better hurry, there are only a few copies left and you wouldn’t want to miss out on the August 3rd beta phase!

  1. I’m kinda interested in the game but I don’t like the idea of limit copies or the look of the high system specs. Just smacks of indie development. Shame cause I’m kinda in the mood for a really good sandbox MMO. Will wait until it’s been out for a while, I guess.

  2. Warning to everyone interested:

It seems they need the money of the beta testers to continue development.

    Quote from a beta forum:

“Although it is claimed that the game is in beta, its obviously still in alpha stage as it’s been 9 days now since the opening of the 3rd phase of beta. As part of the block A testers I have yet to be able to log in the game for more than 3 minutes upon which I got booted to char creation screen and my char was deleted and then it became impossible to create another char still to this day.

They still do not have a forum for the beta testers an they are handling communication through a private IRC channel run by people who don’t even work for the company. They have had to have everyone download the game client through torrents two seperate times now and neither client downloaded is working for ANYONE. Even the play button to start the fucking game doesn’t work so you’re forced to run the game through a batch file.

They blatantly lied about the state of the game and sold pre-orders to produce funds to continue the project by offering beta slots on a first come first serve basis and the dumbasses used the same payment agency as Darkfall and thus the sales were a cluster fuck of a mess and still are for many.”

  3. Longasc, that info isn’t telling the whole truth. Star Vault clearly explained all wont work or be in from the beginning! So don’t lie.

Read yourself here … what the buyers will test …

I also couldn’t start the program with Play button … and was both angry and dissapointed, so was several others, BUT it was our own faults.

We hadn’t upgraded latest driver for graphic card and sound card, also we had to patch up with phys to the NVIDIA card and also install XP SP3 and .NET, then everything worked.

One did that … couldnt start … after reinstalled everything again from the begginning … all worked well.

The devs have done alot of improvements allmost every day. More than 1500 people online at same time … so devs have rapidly improved the servers alot. So the servers don’t crash every 10 min anymore.

When the last bugs for the server have been fixed they will start adding more content.

  4. BEWARE!!!
