Star Trek Online: State of the Game – Season Two Launch Edition

Space Army

What’s up Trekkies? Executive Producer of Star Trek: Online, Dan Stahl, has beamed down this little number – a State of the Game for the upcoming launch of Season Two: Ancient Enemies.

The release also covered what has been going on in STO in the last 6 months, quickly recapping all the major updates like Character Respecing, Fleet Improvements, Veteran Awards and a host of other changes.

Stahl then jumped into talking about the good stuff, Season Two. “After Season One there was a complaint that while there were a ton of features, there was not much in the way of new content. Our response? Season Two contains new PvE missions across the board and a commitment to provide weekly mission series moving forward.”

Another key note was that Klingons won’t simply be involved in PvP but will also have their own PvE missions as well with the “first Klingon-faction-specific PvE episode arcs.”

Stahl then fired off a quick list of some other updates including: new skillpoint cap of 51, new 51 level ships, Federation Diplomatic Corps., minigames and more.

Other issues are going to be addressed in the upcoming weeks such as problems with ground combat, making rewards more interesting, rethinking exploration and more.

As the new Executive Producer of STO, Stahl ended the piece with this sentiment: “It is an honor and a thrill to be in the position where we can work together to make this MMO the ultimate Star Trek game. We have had a great start and improved in many areas. There is so much more we can and need to do. I’m very happy with the team we have, and when I look at the plans we have in the works, I’m confident that you’re going to like where we’re headed. I have that confidence because I will continue to listen to your feedback and ensure that we are on track to continually improve this game.”
