In a public post to all Xfire members, Chris Kirmse, founder and lead engineer behind the website, announced that Xfire has been acquired by another company.
“Xfire was bought by new owners today. Most of the team that has built Xfire over the last six years is leaving. We enjoyed working for you for the last 127 releases and wish we could stay to create the next 127. Good bye, good luck, and game on. — The Xfire Team”
The message was later replaced by the announcement of the site’s new owners, Titan Gaming, who will of course rename themselves Xfire. Titan Gaming includes former IGE execs John Maffei, Dave Christensen and Brock Pierce (IGE founder).
Haha good ole IGE Brock Pierce… still kicking strong.
What does leaving mean? Is it a euphamism for ‘been ruthlessly fired’?
That’s weird.. because Playxpert CEO Charles Manning is proclaiming that Playxpert bought xfire… what’s going on here??? Who’s telling the truth?
