Guild Wars 2 Reveals Necromancer

Often the most misunderstood class in RPGs, Necromancers are evil, brooding, and destructive – though not without an understanding of the healing arts. In NCSoft’s Guild Wars 2, the Necromancer plays a hybrid support/damage-dealing role, utilizing skills that both harm enemies and heal allies simultaneously. We can expect some grotesque minions to be at the Necro’s side, as well, including Bone Minions, which resemble skinless dogs with human skulls. Guess it’s not “man’s best friend” anymore, eh?

Feeding on death and decay, the Necromancer can build up a “Life Force”, which plays as an extension to his/her own life. This force can be built up by using certain skills and abilities, and can extend the Necromancer’s life past his own death, turning him into a spectre and releasing an area-of-effect “Death Shroud”. If the Necromancer gets any kills before his Life Force runs out, he may return to the land of the living, and “rally back into his own corpse.” Included in the Necromancer’s arsenal are axes, daggers, scepters, as well as warhorns, and staffs.
